Goals.

When I had my first baby I said, "I want to nurse for six months" when I got to six months I said, "I hope to nurse her for one year" when I got toward the year mark I met another mom who was nursing a baby about the same age, probably around ten months old. She was on her second baby, I was on my first, she asked how long I was going to breastfeed and I said I supposed a year. This is what I knew when I had my first baby. 1. Babies take a bottle for a year, so, logically, babies who breastfeed do so for a year. That was what I knew. My friend said, "You can nurse longer than a year if your baby wants to and you want to." That opened a whole new concept for me. to be continued...
