Breastfeeding AFTER Open-heart Surgery

Before Adam's surgery he had a big hole in his heart, his breathing was always rapid, his heart was working hard with that hole in it. When he breast fed he would fall asleep after 3 minutes almost every time he ate, he would sweat while he ate the last few days before surgery.

Since Adam's surgery, the big hole is patched up, and now Adam will nurse both sides at almost every feeding and a good 5 minutes or more per side for an average nursing session of 15 minutes as he often goes from one side to the other and back in one nursing session. He never falls asleep at the breast unless it is bed time or nap time.

He does not sweat when he breast feeds anymore. I hear him drinking and swallowing and gulping.

It's awesome.
