Breastfeeding Tip #2

Don't let your baby suck on anything else until you are confident you are making enough and he is getting enough milk. With Adam he was around three months old before I let him have a pacifier. As soon as your baby is sucking on anything other than the nipple he is no longer exclusively breastfeeding. He may be ONLY getting breast milk but once he is using any of his sucking energies elsewhere he is not just nursing anymore. Within a week of Adam taking the pacifier on a regular basis I got my period. I never let any of my babies have a pacifier until I felt sure nursing was going fine and was successful.
